I went back to Atlantis with Viviane and got in with a lie to the gate keeper before the grand opening on the 24th. We went straight to the Aquarium and it was great. I brought my actual camera, this shot of the fish is not from a mobile phone.
Shopping in the Mall, and the Call to Prayer came over the load speakers. And in the Mall of the Emirates, in the center area, trust me, they crank it.
This month's new detour home brings me up the west side of old town. It also forces people who want to exit onto Sheikh Zayed toward Dubai to take a long loop arond the Qarmardeen District.
in Abu Dhabi, at the base is what is called the Burj al Marina, which is a very short observation town. The thing was closed so no pictures. But as I say in the vid, smoking is allowed in the mall (the 80's), and being ABB, video is not allowed. (aka, no locals in local atire on video. That gets a bit touching in parts of the Arab world.)
The Dubai Rugby 7's is a huge party. Totally a good time. I have to believe it is the biggest gathering of drunk people each year in one place in Dubai. The video is between matches when they play music, and the entire place sings along. King Arthur and the Dragon were just one of many festive people at the event. Enjoy. Goodtimes.
